Throughout this project I will have to collect research using different methods. There are three main types of research, primary, secondary and tertiary.
Primary research is an original form of research. This means that any research taken from interviews, questionnaires and original pieces of art work is classed as primary.
Secondary research is taking an analysis of primary research and interpretation of the source. Research taken from a journal or a biography is classed as secondary research.
Tertiary research usually is made up of statistics and research which has been gained via facts and opinions. Examples of tertiary research are statistics, facts books and guidebooks.
Research methods are extremely important when gathering information for an essay. Having a range of methods means that you get a wide angle of a subject and more opinions and ideas to consider.
